Preparation continues as all the big jobs are completed, the
million little jobs emerge. Checking the
anchors, refreshing the water, storing the fuel, checking propane levels, reviewing
safety equipment, and updating ditch bag contents. And making provisions for
all the land transactions, like bill paying, mail, banking, prescription
medications, and attempting to arrange for the unexpected. I take the cats to Maine for their farmhouse
experience. We continually run into new projects, like the dinghy ladder. We have frozen the meats for meals and all the
non-perishables are stored in containers.
We will buy the perishables closer to departure. It’s exciting to see the
preparations come together and to think of sailing as we have envisioned being
realized.
